First Ryeland lanb of 2011 was born last night, a ewe lamb, she was a week overdue and has struggled to stand unaided until this afternoon. She is doing well now . She is by Hawthorns Jacob out of Reivesley Francesca. We have a break of about week until the next ewe is due.
Francesca due today but she doesn't look anything like being ready, another week at least. Hopefully she will produce another lovely, big ewe lamb like sister Gillean. Fingers crossed.
Happy New Year to everyone! The New Year has brought a little milder weather and we have taken the opportunity to have the show team sheared. The ewes are looking well considering the weather we have experienced. The first batch to lamb (mid to end January) are now home and getting used to coming in at nights, although it will be another 10 days before we need to check them through the night.
